UK denim line, Laundry Maid Jeans @ Bread & Honey Store!

UK denim line, Laundry Maid Jeans introduce their second season line at Bread & Honey

Designer duo, Barbara Graham and Anita Sheridan focus on constructing tailored jeans with a signature back panel that subtly lifts and shapes the rear, creating a super-smooth side seam free fit. Laundry Maid Jeans are designed, manufactured and laundered in the U.K; LM notes that due to this factor, it helps to reduce their carbon footprint. I am in love with the stitching on the back side of their jeans rather than on the side seams! The styling is very fresh and good looking (modeled by Rachel Rutt the 17 year old Singaporean/Australian is sweeping through Manhattan and creating quite the storm)

Come in store check them out… Also, did we mention they all come with a little Lavender bag which give a great fresh laundry smell to the denim.A touch!

Runny Bunny Exhibition by Robin Van Valkenburgh @ Bread & Honey

Bread&Honey wishes to mark  Tim Burton’s Alice and wonderland and a quirky taste for Easter by inviting one of their favourite US ceramic artist, Robin Van Valkenburgh and her Runny Bunny figures.

From Nashville in North Carolina, Robin has created for us, with freshness and ingenuity, a world of charming or ugly, two headed beasts in ceramic dressed in Crinoline dresses, crowns and Victorian gentlemen outfits.  Welcome in the magic world of the Runny Bunnies!

We like to share with you a few words written by the artist herself:

“It has been quite a natural fit for me to create this body of work for Bread & Honey. While making, chopping off and reappointing heads while humming a vintage Sir Elton song in my head. Breathing in the comforting smell of my aged childhood copy of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland.  All the while making each piece for you. Whom ever you may be, special, interesting, purveyor of wonderment. The Victorian deer man as a gentleman offers one dainty foot up. A gesture of connectivity between you and I. Hello and welcome my world of Runny Bunny!”

MARGIN Fashion trade show Autumn Winter 2010/11

Half way through our buying season and it is been great so far!

We found great and exciting new little brands in MARGIN trade show held behind Bond St tube station, on South Molton Lane, great location and easy access… close to lovely pubs and Selfridges!!

I went on Sunday, quite day in the tube and the West End, perfect relax day to chat to new designers and brands. The pretty girls at the reception directed me to the room 101 where you can find the up and coming young designers. I quickly realised that the show had a lot of newcomers from the European community like Germany, Cyprus, Finland, and Malta etc. I liked this melting pot.

Press room

Also new concepts and ideologies were featured like ELENANY, which is designed by a young, and full of life Muslim young lady. She is bringing her lifestyle and religion to us through her clothing. I admired her courage and her passion!

I moved on  into the main room where the atmosphere was booming. I recognised a few of my buyers friends who are working for big companies like ASOS or FENWICKS. Said a quick hello and moved on. I first topped to talk to Sam from MR WINGATE who will be stocked on our website this summer, so check www.backin10minutes.com in a few weeks, I’ll remind you! He has done a series of tees representing different buildings and pubs from London’s East End. Great stuff!

Laura Walter, Fashion editor from WAD, talking to the brand CONQUER.

My next stop was with a bit of Women wear FRANK & FAITH with their organic and ethical designs, LAZY OAF which doesn’t need to be introduced anymore with their happy look and a great women’s tailored jeans company LAUNDRY MAID JEANS.

I also loved ZELLEY which take the sneaker laces in a new dimension with a range of luxury tips for laces in gold and silver or VESTAL watches which came out with a great ranges of sunglasses for this summer.

There were plenty more but it was getting late and  I decided to call it a day and to come back the day after to finish my tour.

MARGIN always managed to amaze me by the great eclectic mix of styles and looks put together for us, always looking forward to spending  time at this edgy fashion trade show. Thank you MARGIN.
